I finally made it out to Philly! I wanted to visit my best friend who came here to do a year of service. I love it here! it was a little cold but nothing this puffer couldn’t handle. It actually kept me super warm. It’s a great alternative for people that live in warmer cities and only experience the cold when they travel. It’s inexpensive and really works! Also, Doc Martens…yes. I think I’ve finally broken them in. They’re so comfortable and great to walk in. These boots can take any natural disasters. They kept my feet dry and warm!
Now, onto this beautiful location. It’s called the Philadelphia Magic Gardens. It’s this insane house created all out of different scraps, metals and glass. Unfortunately, it was closed because it was covered in ice so I only got to take pictures from the outside. My favorite part is, around this area of the city, there are different little murals decorated just like this house. It was really cool and absolutely beautiful. I really hope I can come back and visit the inside!
On this day, I also did what everybody should do when they come to visit: eat a philly cheesesteak! I went to the classic two restaurants Geno’s and Pat’s. They are located on opposite corners and compete for the best sandwich so I just had to try both! In my opinion, Geno’s was the winner! Their steak was sliced thin, so tender and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a must-try! If you’ve been, let me know which was your favorite!
Stay tuned for more from my weekend adventures in Philadelphia.
