I’m a Working-Class Person Working with Class.

When I saw this top, I knew I had to have it! I am definitely a working-class person working with class. 😉 Graphic tees are so much and so easy to wear! They add a sort of edge to an outfit and can easily be dressed up or down. For example, pair this top with a mini skirt and some cool booties and you’re ready to take on the night! Find a cool graphic tee that describes you.

Texas Tux with a Twist.

A Texas Tux is essentially a denim on denim outfit. And, as you can see, there is a million different ways to channel this look. My #1 recommendation is the denims should never be of the same shade. You want to avoid looking like a cowboy (trust me.)

Here I did acid wash overalls with a darker wash denim shirt but you could do darker overalls with an acid wash denim shirt OR dark overalls with a light wash denim shirt…really, the possibilities are endless!

I hope all of you test out the Texas Tux! It’s easy when you’re not sure what to wear. 😉

Comfy but Chic.

As you all may know, I am the web director for ShopBlush.com. They are a chain of Miami based boutique that recently launched their online website and sometimes, I have the lucky chance to assist on the buying trips in LA.

When I explain to everyone my short one day trip to LA, they are always in shock. I usually leave a Tuesday night, arrive that same night and then leave the next night. Yes, I’m only there a mere 25 hours.

The day is spent running around visiting different vendors and of course, In & Out. After a long day of being in the beating sun and being left with swollen, pulsating feet, we head straight to the airport to catch the red-eye. This trip takes the life out of you and is not meant for the weak at heart but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s fun, exciting and a great way to soak up the LA vibe for a bit. It’s also great seeing things that I’ve specifically chosen carried at Blush Boutique and seeing people love them…yes, I love my job.

Anyways, back to my outfit. I wanted something comfy but still chic. This dress is kind of long and frumpy (I’m used to this since I’m so petite) so adding a denim shirt tied around the waist was the perfect touch! A cool belt, maybe a chain belt, could also totally work to help spice up a little dress like this. Not to mention the birks; you can’t travel to LA and not wear birks. 😉

They are so girly, chic and perfect to wear. If you want to don one of these fabulous skirts, be sure to keep it simple! This skirt deserves all the attention so pair it with a simple top and keep the accessories to a minimum.

Don’t forget the top knot if you want look like the ultimate prima ballerina.

My theme for MFW seemed to have been open-back tops and florals.

For the runway shows, I was lucky enough to be seated front row. I got there right in time for the Peruvian showcase (reppin’ my country!) My favorite from this showcase were Chiara Macchiavello’s designs for Escudo. I loved the bohemian feel the pieces had and loved all the intricate detailing. Oh, and crops, my fave! Not to mention, how bad-ass were those sunglasses?! Chiara, feel free to send me a pair. 🙂

My other favorite was lingerie and swimwear designer, Andres Sarda. He had the sexiest and most beautiful pieces. I would rock these all day, everyday, if I could. Also, wouldn’t mind getting married in the bridal inspired lingerie piece. FIERCE.

P.S. Sorry for the blurry pics taken from my iPhone. Check out my Facebook later during the week for full albums (with better quality pics) of all the runway shows I attended.
