I LOVE mixing prints! Checkered prints are super in for fall so it’s always fun to mix to mix two different versions of a similar print. But don’t forget my advice, when mixing prints, always make sure one bring is smaller or bigger than the other. This stops you from looking like a crazy lady!
This past Saturday, the always fabulous Refinery29 curated a fun little shopping block in the middle of Dadeland Mall. There were local boutiques, a MAC station and a cool little DIY station. It was a great place to hang out with my fellow blogger babes. I even got featured on Refinery29.com! (YAY)
I absolutely love this cool floral sweater from Forever 21. It’s thin so it’s perfect for layering in Miami. Plus, my favorite necklace right now – it was the perfect edgy outfit for a daytime event. Layering can easily be done in Miami! Just try light layers or pairing those layers with shorts.
Jill Wallace, blogger of Little Black Boots, has the best bohemian, free-spirited and effortless style. While I sound very mean girls, I saw her wearing a peasant blouse and an overall dress, so I had to wear a peasant blouse and overall dress. Of course, I added my little flair. 🙂 Plus, I had to top it off with little black boots.
This outfit truly made me feel like it was finally fall! I love prints but I especially love leopard for fall. Where it’s a little chillier, feel free to wear a cute sweater and tights under an overall dress like this. We’re still hitting the high 80’s here in Miami, so this is the best I could do (and I was still sweating!) Can’t wait till it gets colder here so I can definitely try this outfit with a sweater.
This past Friday I had the awesome opportunity to host another Fashion Happy Hour. This one was a little different. Instead of local vendors selling their clothing, bloggers got together and sold items from their closet for charity. We raised over $1,000 for Style Saves. Style Saves raises funds through fashion focused events in order to provide underprivileged students with clothing, shoes, and accessories. I also donated everything I didn’t sell to Style Saves. I was so excited to be able to be a part of such an amazing event!
I wore this outfit to the event. I lucky enough to be a brand ambassador for Umgee! They NEVER disappoint. 🙂 Love the colors, print and flowy feel. The shorts also went perfectly paired with my new MissGuided booties. You HAVE to go check out their new shoe collection. It’s affordable and oh so chic. Stay tuned because there’s more goodies from their shoeseum!
This outfit is the perfect transitional outfit for fall in Miami. Bright colors are in for fall so adding a bright colored chiffon scarf to a neutral outfit will add the pop of color that you need! Have fun with scarves this season! Try different styles and different prints. I recommend YouTube for finding cool techniques to wrap a scarf. I absolutely love this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs40P0dasGU. It helps you turn your scarf into a vest!! So cool. 🙂
Crop tops and baby doll dresses with chokers and dark lipstick – 90’s are in. And, I love it! In this outfit, I felt like Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It’s easy to create fun and edgy outfits like these. Don’t be afraid to pair booties with any flowy dress! Plus, this amazing choker is a great way to top off any 90’s inspired outfit.
Like most girls are self conscious about their body, I am self conscious about being skinny. Some things just don’t fit me right because of my lack of curves. I usually NEVER wear strapless pieces because they really make me look extremely thin, which I hate. SO I always try and improvise because there’s always going to be those pieces you just have to have.
I absolutely love this jumpsuit from BLUSH. It is so comfortable, chic and it has pockets (which is always a plus.) Since it was strapless, I decided to add the mesh top to be able to cover up the area I don’t feel great about. I loved that you could still see the print through the top and it actually added a great touch. The jumpsuit was also very long (especially for a girl standing at a mere 5’2) so I tied it at the hem. This helped with my boho-arabian-vibe.
I’m glad I was able to wear this jumpsuit and reinvent the outfit into something that made me feel comfortable. So, don’t hesitate from trying something outside of your comfort zone but, when in doubt, change up the outfit until it suits you best!
