I LOVE mixing prints! Checkered prints are super in for fall so it’s always fun to mix to mix two different versions of a similar print. But don’t forget my advice, when mixing prints, always make sure one bring is smaller or bigger than the other. This stops you from looking like a crazy lady!
When I saw this top, I knew I had to have it! I am definitely a working-class person working with class. 😉 Graphic tees are so much and so easy to wear! They add a sort of edge to an outfit and can easily be dressed up or down. For example, pair this top with a mini skirt and some cool booties and you’re ready to take on the night! Find a cool graphic tee that describes you.
As I’ve said several times, transitioning into fall is almost impossible in Miami with this 90 degree weather. Little slip dresses like this make it seamless. Grab a light, flowy dress in a fall color, add some booties and you’ve got a chic fall look you won’t die of a heat stroke in.
Like most girls are self conscious about their body, I am self conscious about being skinny. Some things just don’t fit me right because of my lack of curves. I usually NEVER wear strapless pieces because they really make me look extremely thin, which I hate. SO I always try and improvise because there’s always going to be those pieces you just have to have.
I absolutely love this jumpsuit from BLUSH. It is so comfortable, chic and it has pockets (which is always a plus.) Since it was strapless, I decided to add the mesh top to be able to cover up the area I don’t feel great about. I loved that you could still see the print through the top and it actually added a great touch. The jumpsuit was also very long (especially for a girl standing at a mere 5’2) so I tied it at the hem. This helped with my boho-arabian-vibe.
I’m glad I was able to wear this jumpsuit and reinvent the outfit into something that made me feel comfortable. So, don’t hesitate from trying something outside of your comfort zone but, when in doubt, change up the outfit until it suits you best!
My theme for MFW seemed to have been open-back tops and florals.
For the runway shows, I was lucky enough to be seated front row. I got there right in time for the Peruvian showcase (reppin’ my country!) My favorite from this showcase were Chiara Macchiavello’s designs for Escudo. I loved the bohemian feel the pieces had and loved all the intricate detailing. Oh, and crops, my fave! Not to mention, how bad-ass were those sunglasses?! Chiara, feel free to send me a pair. 🙂
My other favorite was lingerie and swimwear designer, Andres Sarda. He had the sexiest and most beautiful pieces. I would rock these all day, everyday, if I could. Also, wouldn’t mind getting married in the bridal inspired lingerie piece. FIERCE.
P.S. Sorry for the blurry pics taken from my iPhone. Check out my Facebook later during the week for full albums (with better quality pics) of all the runway shows I attended.
I was lucky enough to be invited to Miami Fashion Week this past weekend and it was such a blast! On Wednesday night was the official kick-off party at the Eden Roc in Miami Beach. There was amazing music, delicious food and the most fabulous of people. I got to mingle with some other local bloggers and networked a bunch! Stay tuned for more exclusive pictures from the runway shows and after parties. Hope you enjoy, xo.
(P.S. I know I’ve already shot this top in green but it was so nice, I had to get it twice :p)
When I received this amazing jacket from Umgee I thought, what am I going to wear with this with Miami’s heat?! The perfect way is with a crop top and cut-offs. This look is great for a fun dinner with girls or even for going to a lounge. If you are going to try this look, make sure you stick to a classic style pump or bootie because other styles, such as strappy or platform could make the outfit a little more “hoochie” that it already is! And to all of you in the colder parts, keep the crop top and throw on a pair of distressed jeans and you’re good to go.
